Xyron Mini X | Mid Week MojoAmethyst – Layout 1 Can you believe it?! We have finished up another 10 week series of amazing scrapbook layout sketches in our Mid Week Mojo Series! The layouts that each of you have created over the past two and a half months have been absolutely amazing and I’m so excited to be starting out fresh again with our Amethyst Mid Week Mojo Series. For those of you that have ever thought about jumping in on the fun, now is the time to get started. With a simple sketch provided each week by myself or another guest sketcher, how much easier can it be to fill your family albums with precious memories? Well it can be made a wee bit easier with today’s steal, the Xyron Mini X and the Ultimate Adhesive Tool Kit. What paper crafter doesn’t love a great adhesive? I know I’ve been frustrated from time to time with adhesives that just don’t make the cut, or rather make the stick. Xyron adhesives are amazing. When you want the sticky stuck Xyron is a definite thumbs up! I’ve been truly loving the mini photo layouts lately so I decided to challenge myself and see just what I could come up with for today’s sketch. I recently joined an amusing little Facebook group and each day we post photos of our findings when we sweep our floors. Not only has this group made me feel “normal” about the mysterious amounts of rubbish that I am continually finding on my floor several times a day, but it’s been highly entertaining to see what everyone else comes up with! I thought it would be fun to create a layout featuring the floors of several of our group members. For those of you that purchased the My Mind’s Eye, Miss Caroline Dilly Dally collection, today’s layout is an example of what you can create with that collection. I was pretty excited that I could hand choose the papers that I wanted to create this layout. The combination of woodgrains, and the red and white checkers along with the grey grid mimicked to me to perfection the feeling of kitchen floors. Even though it’s a bit of a crazy layout, having 14 photos on one page, I love how it turned out and I have to shout out an extra special thank you to all of the girls who let me air their dirty floors. Oh and if you’re wondering, my floor is the photo with the white heart, and cheerio, and who knows what else! And now it’s time to shout out to our Garnet #1o winner and the lucky winner of the Garnet series. Congrats are in order for Jessica Arrant, who is the lucky winner of our regular weekly series. Jessica you page is absolutely lovely and I love how you added the extra photos to fill the white space. It turned out to perfection! If you will please send an email to customerservice@stealnetwork.com we will be happy to send a prize out to you to keep the Mid Week Mojos coming! And now for the winner of the Garnet series Mid Week Mojos and the We R Memory Keepers Cinch. Cyndee Kawa, you are our lucky girl! I have to take a super quick moment to thank Cyndee personally for the amazing contribution that she is to our happy ScrapbookSteals family. Imaginisce Cupcake and Fashion Flowers | How To’sdayTue, Feb 21, 2012 - by { ♥Kristy Lee }::sigh:: Flowers. I absolutely adore them. I love bouquets, wild flowers, flowers in my garden — I even have sort of a ridiculous obsession to mix flowers with my paper crafting. In fact I’ve even been known to add flowers to my boy scrapbook pages! Today’s steal the Imaginisce Cupcake and Fashion Flowers make me swoon. Not only are their textures and patterns amazing, but the colors are vibrant and can really be the perfect finishing touch for so many things. Now if you are not a frilly scrapper or haven’t had the guts to add a flower to a boy page, then today Charity Becker shows us just how much fun the Imaginisce flowers can be in her amazing tutorial. • • • • • Flowers and Prisms I‘ve had this delightful antique mirror sitting around waiting to be altered for MUCH too long. It has lost enough of it’s silvering to reflect a cloudy image, but will still lend interest to a dark space. Flowers from Imaginisce sparked a sweet plan and the results were delightful. The mirror I used was 22.5 inches by 14.5 inches. I added 5 nails to the frame, 1 at the center and the others at 4.5 inch segments from the center. Flower Garlands For the flower garlands you’ll need three packs of Imaginisce Cupcake Flowers; pink, neutral, and bright. Three colors of twine, +/- 53 inches long, and 20 or so acrylic prisms, assorted sizes. First, remove the netting and “disco” blossoms from all three packs of Cupcake flowers. Sort them into colors and arrange into garlands. I used the following patterns: Using a contrasting color of twine, string the flowers and prisms in the patterns described, tying the prisms along the way. After the last prism is tied on, slide the blossoms along the twine till they hang evenly between the prisms. Assume that the nails are numbered 1-5 from left to right. Loop the pink and green garland over nails 1, 2, 4, and 5. Loop the White and pink garland over nails 1, 3, and 5 in tight loops. Loop the Blue and yellow garland over nails 1,3, and 5 in large loose loops. Title and Quote
Place the first letter of the first line 1 ½ inches from the top edge. Place the first letter of the third line 3 ½ inches from the top edge. Place the first letter of the fifth line 5 ½ inches from the top edge. Complete the quote, one line at a time. Space lines 2 and 4 between the existing guide letters. Wrap the sides with washi tape or frame with ½ inch vellum. Adhere the title letters to the lower edge of the transparency. Embellish with gems. Adhere to the mirror. Throw Pillow Choose two large polka-dot flowers, two small polka-dot flowers, and one sheer. Grab a shiny button and length of twine from your stash and your ready to create smiles. Stack the polka-dot flowers so that the petals off set each other. Stack the small polka-dot flowers onto the shear flower, and the shear onto the large polka-dot flowers. Stitch the button to the stacked flowers with one loop of twine and then take a second loop through the button and stitch the flowers to the center of the throw pillow. Tie the twine in a sweet bow and you’re finished. MOM Moms know they have our heart, but sometimes they need a reminder. The Imaginisce Bitty blossoms and Itty bitty blossoms combine to make a classy reminder. I joined them with a brass brad and adhered them to the shadow box with dimensional adhesive. For the title I attached three brown flowers to a 7inch piece of ribbon with brads. I placed 1 inch letters at their centers to spell out my title. At either end of the ribbon I placed the green and white flowers, then adhered the title to the center of the shadow box. For the sentiment I used tiny type, but centered the words on a strip of transparency before adding it to my project. Using the transparency made it easier to see exactly where I wanted my title before making it permanent. • • • • • W-O-W! Charity you are amazing! Thank you so much for being willing to create such an amazing tutorial for our How To’sday. If you have an idea that you’d like to share or would be interested in being a guest blogger for ScrapbookSteals.com, please send an email with your idea to kristy@stealnetwork.com. Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow for the announcement of the winner of the We R Memory Keepers Cinch, and the first layout in our next Mid Week Mojo series.

Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze | Monday Card Madness #72Mon, Feb 20, 2012 - by { ♥Kristy Lee }I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw today’s steal, the Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze collection. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen anything so perfectly classy in a very long time. The union of yellow and grey with the classical, chic feel of Teresa Collins, is bound to ensure some pretty fantastic paper crafting! I also admit that my heart skipped another wee beat when I knew I would be able to use the 6×6 paper pad for creating today’s Monday Card Madness. There’s just something about a mini print that makes creating a card perfection. The sheets of stickers and die cuts also took the brain work out of the card making and added some perfect finishing touches. I honestly can’t say enough good about the Carolina Breeze collection and I’m pretty excited to put it to use on a layout as well. I love the fact that any photo on the planet turned black and while will look stellar with this collection. I bet it would even make a photo of my son playing in the mud look pretty darn classy! The Valentine cards that everyone shared last week were awesome! What a treat it is to get to see the creative minds of so many of you. If you haven’t already joined our Facebook community and would like to join in on the fun of sharing all sorts of inspiration with each other, we’d love to have you! Let me also shout out a huge thank you to those of you that participated in the first card swap of the year. I’m still waiting on a few packages to arrive and once they do I will be sorting and shipping back out your cards. As always there is some pretty amazing talent rocking our midst. Be sure to check in tomorrow for an awesome How To’sday tutorial by Charity Becker. Have a super scrappy day!
My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline | Mid Week MojoWed, Feb 15, 2012 - by { ♥Kristy Lee }Garnet – Layout 10 Can you believe that we have reached the end of yet another gem series in our Mid Week Mojo layout sketch series? It’s always an exciting thing to come to the end of another ten weeks, and what makes it even more exciting is that this weeks sketch is completed with today’s steal, two of the brand new collections by My Mind’s Eye, Miss Caroline. I knew that I wanted to keep this week fairly simple as I’m sure that once you see what prize we are giving away for the Garnet series, there will be a bunch of you on the quest to catch up, so I settled on a one page layout about my Sarah. My daughter Sarah is such a talented and beautiful young lady (do I sound like a proud mom or what?) On Monday night we were privileged to hear her perform at her clarinet recital. As I was shooting photos during her performance I realized how perfectly the Fiddlesticks and Dolled Up collections would work with the yellows and turquoises in the photos, and thus my layout was born. My Mind’s Eye always does an amazing job with their embellishments, which bring the perfect finishing touches to a project. I think the twine and the stick pins are definitely my favorite! And now for our weekly random winner! I absolutely loved seeing the interpretations of the twelve photo sketch from last week, and Sheryl Kloke layout was of no exception! Congrats Sheryl on being this week’s lucky random winner. If you will please send an email with your address to customerservice@stealnetwork.com we will get your Garnet #9 prize sent out to you. Now for the big news on the Garnet series prize, which you have all been waiting for! One lucky random winner, having completed all ten of the Garnet series Mid Week Mojos by next Monday night, February 20th at 11:59 PM MST will become the proud owner of a We R Memory Keepers Cinch, complete with black carrying tote! A prize with a retail value of $140.00! How’s that for a little incentive to add 10 amazing layouts to your personal family history. Here’s the fine details on what you need to do in order to win this prize:
